In order to actualize Dr Ambedkar’s vision of an egalitarian and enlightened society, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University was established on 10th Jan 1996. In essence, all the academic, research, and out-reach programmes of BBAU, including the University’s Act and Statutes, are informed by Dr. Ambedkar’s basic philosophy of making education the tool for a holistic socio-cultural transformation that first addresses the aspirations of the most deprived section of our society.
